About the event

Join us at Queen Takes Book on Thursday, May 9 for an inspiring evening with acclaimed author Emily Barth Isler (born and raised in Columbia) as she discusses her recent middle grade novel, "AfterMath", exploring concepts of grief, resilience, friendship, and math.

Emily will be joined by former high school teacher and current Maryland State Delegate Eric D. Ebersole, and representatives from the Howard County chapter of Moms Demand Action, to explore the current crisis of gun violence in our schools, and the trauma that flows through our community even many steps removed from events that make headlines for a day.

Attendees will receive a copy of AfterMath with the opportunity to have it signed by Emily, and a portion of ticket and book sales will be donated to support the important work of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
