Author Consignment Policy
(Please scroll down for the submission form)
BOOK REQUIREMENTS
Books eligible for consignment must have an ISBN and a spine that shows both the title of the book and the author’s name. Copies of the book must be provided by the author or be available on Ingram with standard terms (returnable, at least 36%). We cannot stock books published by CreateSpace/Amazon. Preference will be given to books published in the last 12 months.

STOCKING
Queen Takes Book requires a one-time stocking fee of $30, which guarantees no less than three copies at the store for the duration of the consignment period. The location of the books will be at the store’s discretion, but we will make every effort to provide a prominent, front-facing display. Queen Takes Book will determine the price for the books, based on the suggested retail price from the author and product comparisons.
DURATION
The initial consignment period is for 90 days. After 90 days, the author and Queen Takes Book can opt to extend the consignment contract for an additional 60 days.
OVERSTOCK
At the end of the agreed upon consignment period, unsold books will be returned to the author. Queen Takes Book requests that these books be picked up within 10 days of the end of the consignment period. Unsold books remaining in the store after this 10-day period will be donated.
PAYMENT
The Author will receive 60% of the pre-tax sale proceeds and Queen Takes Book will receive 40% of the proceeds. Payment will be made to the author the first week of each month for the previous 30-day sale period.
MARKETING
As part of this consignment agreement, the Author agrees to list Queen Takes Book as a retail location on promotional material. While Queen Takes Book may elect to post author provided content on its social media and email channels, Queen Takes Book is not responsible for the creation of new marketing materials.
DISCLOSURE
Queen Takes Book will do everything within its control to maintain the integrity of the books consigned but is not responsible for theft, loss, or damage to books consigned.
